Survivor Tree

This is the lone tree that survived the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.

It reminds me of what many human survivors feel like – gnarled but we still have our roots firmly planted in the ground. We’ve seen the worst and suffered the pain, but we carry on because those we’ve lost are counting on us to do so.
